Chelsea vs Sporting Lisbon: 'We are fine, we don't need a reaction', says Blues manager Jose Mourinho after Newcastle defeat
Newcastle ended Chelsea's 23-game unbeaten run on Sunday
Jose Mourinho has insisted Chelsea's season won't go off the rails after losing their first game at Newcastle.
Chelsea lost 2-1 at St James Park on Saturday, which ended a run of 23 games without defeat.
Mourinho's side take on Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League on Wednesday night and while he wants an instant return to winning ways, he is adamant Chelsea are still full of self-beleief.
He said: "By the mental point of view the defeat at Newcastle doesn't have any affect on us. I was always saying the defeat wouldn't arrive by complacency. I am more than happy with the players and the situation.
"We are fine. We don't need a reaction, we don't need to change things, our philosophy, our players. I'm so happy with everything.
"We couldn't be in a better situation - top of the League, top of the Champions League group and quarter-finals of the League Cup.
"We have nothing to be worried with, but when you lose the next game you want to win the next one and that's tomorrow."
