Gareth Bale missed out on a home debut for Real Madrid on Sunday after sustaining an injury in the pre-match warm-up.

The Wales international was set to make his Bernabeu bow following his world-record move from Tottenham over the summer but instead was forced to miss the Primera Division fixture with Getafe.

Having been initially named in the starting XI, Madrid tweeted to say Bale would be replaced by Isco.

Bale made his debut for Madrid in last weekend's 2-2 draw at Villarreal, getting on the scoresheet in the process.

And he also came on as a substitute in the 6-1 thrashing of Galatasaray in the Champions League in midweek.
