Gary Neville's wait for a La Liga win continues after draw with Rayo Vallecano
The former Manchester United defender has overseen three victories since taking charge - but none in the league
Gary Neville's failure to win a La Liga game since taking charge at Valencia extended to a sixth game today after his side drew 2-2 with Rayo Vallecano.
The former Manchester United defender's team needed an 88th minute equaliser from Paco Alcacer to claim a point at the Mestalla.
The away side took the lead through Sanchez Ruiz Jozabed before Alvaro Negredo equalised for Valencia 10 minutes after half-time. Diego Llorente then put Rayo Vallecano back in the lead before substitute Zakaria Bakkali laid on a pass for Alcacer to tap in at the back post.
The result will have been a disappointment for Neville, with Rayo Vallecano just one point off the bottom of La Liga table prior to the match. However it was at least enough to put his side back in the top half of the table, moving above Malaga into tenth.
Neville has now overseen four draws and two defeats in the league since being named as the Spanish club's new manager.
He's at least had more joy in the Copa del Rey, beating lower league Barakaldo and then Granada in both legs of their tie.
