Manchester United’s difficult evening got even harder when Paulo Dybala gave Juventus a lead to defend in the 17th minute, getting on the end of Cristiano Ronaldo’s low cross to put the visitors in front and giving them a commanding advantage in their Champions League group.
Jose Mourinho’s side struggled to get shots at goal and rarely troubled the stubborn defence in another frustrating night at Old Trafford, following their 0-0 draw against Valencia in their previous Group H match.
Paul Pogba went closest for the home side when he hit the post with an effort from range and the ball rebounded off Wojciech Szczęsny and away for a corner, such was United’s fortunes.
