Manchester City snatched a 2-2 draw in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain thanks to Fernandinho's deflected second-half equaliser.

Manuel Pellegrini's side had looked as though they would be walking away from the Parc des Princes with ground to make up in the return leg, having fallen behind to an Adrien Rabiot tap-in.

Kevin de Bruyne had given the visitors the lead but Zlatan Ibrahimovic put the Ligue 1 side back on terms, thanks largely to Fernando's horrendous error, which also allowed him to atone for a first-half penalty miss.

On a night of chaotic defending, however, a mix-up between Serge Aurier and Thiago Silva allowed City to steal a vital equaliser, their second away goal of the night.

It gives the Premier League side the slight advantage ahead of the second leg, which will be played at the Etihad Stadium next Tuesday.
