Everyone likes to treat themselves to a new item of clothing for a special occasion, whether it be a new shirt for that job interview or a fancy dress for a wedding.

And when it comes to football, there are few occasions more special than El Clasico, the meeting between the behemoths of Spanish football - Real Madrid and Barcelona.

So it seems rather fitting that Cristiano Ronaldo, right now the undisputed best player on the planet, will be wearing a fancy pair of new boots for the game at the Bernabeu on Saturday.

A video showing off the Nike CR7 Mercurial Superfly boots - which are both black and sparkly in equal measure - is doing the rounds for good measure.

As Ronaldo showed against Liverpool, he shouldn't need any help finding the back of the net and scoring in his 12th consecutive game, although Barcelona are yet to concede a goal in La Liga this season so Saturday's game will be as tough as it gets for CR7.

That said, few would bet against a goal coming off the new boot.
