Real Madrid have welcomed the Syrian refugee tripped over by a camera operator, sparking international outrage, for a tour of the club.

Uosoma Alabed Al-Mohsen and his son Zied became an international symbol of the refugee crisis after video emerged (below) of a Hungarian camerawoman, Petra Laszlo, tripping him over as he ran with Zied in his arms.

Laszlo has since been sacked by the far-right N1TV following the incident, while Mr Al-Mohsen will continue his career as a football coach with CENAFE in Getafe, a suburb of Madrid.

Real Madrid club president Florentino Perez welcomed the refugees to the Bernabeu on Thursday, where they took a tour of the club's vast trophy room as well as heading onto the pitch - they will also be official guests when Real Madrid play Granada on Saturday.

"It's a dream come true," said Mr A-Mohsen, who is from the ISIS-conquered region of Deir ez-Zor in Syria.

"I love Real Madrid, they're my favourite team and my whole family's too. I'm very grateful for the welcome given to us by the president. In Syria we dreamed of seeing a Real Madrid match, and now that's going to come true. I'm really happy."
