The Bayern Munich playmaker Franck Ribéry has been ruled out of the Champions League final on Saturday after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) dismissed his appeal yesterday.

Ribéry had appealed to CAS after being handed a three-match suspension by Uefa following his sending-off in the semi-final first leg against Lyons. Bayern took their case to CAS after their initial appeal was dismissed by Uefa.

Ribéry, who has not yet decided if he will still be with Bayern next season, was shown a red card for stamping on Lisandro Lopez's ankle at the Allianz Arena. Bayern won the tie 4-0 to progress to the final, where they will play Internazionale.
