Arsenal injury news: Francis Coquelin and Tomas Rosicky return, Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck and Santi Cazorla out
Coquelin has not played since November while Rosicky could make his first appearance of the season
Arsenal have been handed a double-injury boost ahead of this weekend’s FA Cup fourth round tie with Burnley after both Francis Coquelin and Tomas Rosicky were cleared to play a part in the clash at the Emirates Stadium.
Coquelin has not played picking up a knee ligament injury in the 2-1 defeat by West Bromwich Albion on 21 November, and he was initially feared to have been ruled out until the end of February.
However, speaking in his pre-match press conference on Thursday, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger confirmed that the defensive midfielder has come through a fortnight of training and will be available for selection for Saturday’s encounter.
As well as Coquelin, Rosicky could make his first appearance of the season, having not played since he represented the Czech Republic on 12 June in a 2-1 defeat by Iceland, with his last Arsenal appearance coming in the penultimate match of last season in May 2015.
January signing Mohamed Elneny could be in line to make his debut this weekend, having remained on the bench for the past two matches since completing a £7.4m switch from Basel, but Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla remain out of contention while Danny Welbeck will not be risked.
