Arsenal victory parade: Jack Wilshere leads fans in insulting anti-Tottenham chant... again

The Gunners have been out on an open top bus to celebrate their FA Cup final victory over Aston Villa

Jack Wilshere could face disciplinary action after taking to the microphone during Arsenal's FA Cup victory parade to lead fans in an insulting chant that includes swearing about rivals Tottenham.

The Arsenal midfielder, who came on as a substitute in the 4-0 victory over Aston Villa at Wembley, seemingly got carried away during today's celebrations that were attended by thousands of fans, including many young children.

"What do we think of Tottenham?" Wilshere said into a microphone outside the Emirates. "S***" was the reply from the fans below.

"What do we think of s***?" Wilshere replied. "Tottenham!" they said.

Tottenham reached the Capital One Cup final where they lost to Chelsea and went on to finish fifth in the Premier League, below the Gunners once more.

The 23-year-old, who has come through the youth ranks at Arsenal, then continued with another Arsenal song, as supporters joined in the shouts of, "It has happened again, Tottenham Hotspur, it has happened again".

The microphone was then taken off Wilshere, but he retrieved it, saying: "We have got one more."

As the England international then started the chant "My old man said be a Tottenham fan....", which when sang in full includes more expletives aimed at Spurs, Arsenal broke off from the live broadcast on their in-house media channel. The studio presenter immediately apologised for any offence caused by the player's remarks.

Although not broadcast, the Arsenal supporters responded with chants of "Super Jack Wilshere".

The England international did the same thing when Arsenal celebrated their FA Cup victory with a parade last season.

Many of the players were wearing sunglasses for the open top bus parade around the streets of Highbury and Islington. The choice of eye wear probably had more to do with a late one the night before rather than the weather, which was overcast and wet.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Wembley goalscorer Per Mertesacker said: "This is an amazing achievement for us as a group, which will hopefully build confidence and hopefully we can build on that next season."

Mikel Arteta said: "It took some time to get going, but now we have created some momentum and hopefully there is more to come.

"We don't have any limits. We need to set bigger aims and we have the quality, everything needed to go bigger and bigger, hopefully we can do that in the next few seasons."

Olivier Giroud, who scored the final goal against Aston Villa, said: "Now we can enjoy this trophy, but next year we want more.

"We really want to start the season strong next year and for sure to join the title race. We want more."

Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey scored the winning goal in extra-time of last season's final as Arsenal beat Hull to secure a first trophy since 2005.

Having now added a second successive FA Cup, Ramsey knows the question of whether Arsene Wenger's men can perform consistently in the Premier League will determine what more the group can achieve.

"This winning habit is very important to keep that momentum going. The fans have given us fantastic support throughout the season and hopefully we can go on now next year to challenge for the Premier League and to win more things for them," Ramsey said.

"Hopefully we can all stay fit for a full season, that will be my main target anyway, and we can keep everyone healthy. We are capable on going on these great runs, like we did at the back end of this season.

"Hopefully we can maintain that throughout the season next year to really believe and go on to more success."
