Liverpool vs Blackburn team news: Steven Gerrard misses FA Cup quarter-final
No place for captain who has been struggling with injury
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is not in the squad for the FA Cup quarter-final tie with Blackburn Rovers.
It was thought the skipper had a chance of featuring as he recovers from a hamstring injury, but he is not even among the substitutes and therefore misses his seventh game in a row.
Brendan Rodgers has made just two changes from the team that beat Burnley 2-0 in midweek. Glenn Johnson comes in for Alberto Moreno whilst Lazar Markovic is in for Joe Allen.
It means that Daniel Sturridge leads the line and the impressive Philippe Coutinho and Raheem Sterling retain their places.
Blackburn striker Josh King, who scored a hat-trick in the fifth-round win over Stoke, has a hamstring injury.
Meanwhile, Jordan Rhodes is on the bench.
Liverpool: Mignolet, Can, Skrtel, Lovren, Johnson, Markovic, Henderson, Lallana, Coutinho, Sterling, Sturridge

Blackburn: Eastwood, Henley, Baptiste, Kilgallon (c), Olsson, Marshall, Evans, Williamson, Conway, Cairney, Gestede
