Cardiff City are considering a proposal to change the colour of their home kit from the traditional blue to red – because their Malaysian owners believe it will boost overseas revenue and sponsorship.

The Championship club, nicknamed the Bluebirds, issued a statement yesterday: "We would like to assure supporters that any decisions will include the long-term interests of our supporters, our community and the survival and development of Cardiff City."
