Championship round-up: McClaren clinging on after Forest thrashed by Burnley

The pressure on Steve McClaren intensified last night as his struggling Nottingham Forest side crashed to a 5-1 defeat at Burnley. McClaren had gone into the game with the hope that all the "squabbling" behind the scenes at Forest was over but they now find themselves one point outside the bottom three

Forest were four-down at half-time, Jay Rodriguez getting Burnley's first two goals inside the first 15 minutes with a couple of headers, then Chris McCann and Ross Wallace inflicting more punishment. Ishmael Miller pulled one back for Forest in the second-half but Charlie Austin grabbed Burnley's fifth with 19 minutes to go.

Lee Bowyer came back to haunt his old club West Ham by grabbing a last-minute winner in Ipswich's 1-0 victory at Upton Park, pouncing after Keith Andrews had seen his header from Jimmy Bullard's corner hit the post.

Derby moved up to second in the table despite being held 1-1 at home by Barnsley. The highly-rated 21-year-old Jacob Butterfield, who was made the youngest captain in Barnsley's history this month, put the visitors ahead 10 minutes before half-time but Steven Davies brought Derby level with a 62nd-minute penalty.
