Nottingham Forest eased their relegation worries with a crucial 2-0 win against Watford at Vicarage Road last night thanks to two goals from Kris Commons. The winger scored on the stroke of half-time to give Gary Megson's side the lead and wrapped up the points with a second goal 10 minutes before the end.

The victory leaves Forest in 23rd position, but only four points from safety with a game in hand over Gillingham and Coventry, who occupy the next two places in the Championship table. It was only Forest's second away win of the season following success at their East Midlands rivals Leicester at the weekend.

Leicester stay 18th and Burnley remain in mid-table after an uninspiring goalless draw at Turf Moor. The game finished with several bookings for each side.

Leicester, without a win in six League games, are now just five points clear of the relegation zone.
