Coppell given Crawley role
Crawley have appointed former Reading manager Steve Coppell as the club's new director of football. Coppell, who has also had stints as manager of clubs including Manchester City, Crystal Palace and most recently Bristol City, takes up his new post with immediate effect.
Craig Brewster, the former Inverness and Dundee United manager, will remain as caretaker in the wake of Steve Evans's departure to become manager of Rotherham. Brewster steered the League Two team to a win at Barnet to keep them in contention for automatic promotion.
Crawley currently stand fourth, with three teams going straight up to League One.
