Colin Lee, the Wolves manager, was delighted to land the 32-year-old in the wake of last week's departure of Ade Akinbiyi to Leicester.

"Temuri is a great player who will add something different to the squad. He can score goals from anywhere."

Birmingham's 27-year-old midfielder Martin Grainger, has agreed a new six-year contract and the Sunderland striker Niall Quinn, 33, has signed a new three-year deal.

South Africa have dropped their legal battle with Fifa over the 2006 World Cup bid. Germany were controversially awarded the tournament when the New Zealand delegate Charles Dempsey abstained despite being mandated to vote for South Africa.
