Steve Bruce, the former Sunderland, Wigan, Birmingham, Huddersfield, Crystal Palace and Sheffield United manager, is reported to have been offered the chance to manage Hull City.

Nick Barmby was sacked as Hull manager last month, after less than six months in charge of the Championship club, following comments he made to the media. Hull's owners, the Allams, had said two candidates were under consideration but BBC Radio Humberside yesterday claimed that Bruce who was sacked by Sunderland last November, had been offered the job.
