* NOTTS COUNTY Manager Ian McParland fears the Magpies will face a perennial relegation battle unless there is major investment in the club. "For this club to go forward it needs a massive cash boost," he said. "Until someone ploughs in around 3m we will always be fighting for our lives around the bottom."

* LEYTON ORIENT Tottenham striker Andy Barcham has had his loan spell at Brisbane Road extended until the end of the season. "We have 22 games left and I am confident Andy will play a big role for us over that time," O's manager Martin Ling said of the 21-year-old.

* LINCOLN CITY The club has cancelled Steve Torpey's contract by mutual consent. The 37-year-old made 14 appearances for the Imps in his 18 months at the club and has recently been on loan at non-league Farsley Celtic.

* LEEDS UNITED The manager Dennis Wise is close to completing the signing of 23-year-old Stoke City midfielder Peter Sweeney. "I know him from Millwall," Wise said. "He can play on the left or in the middle."
