Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain joins the youngest ever England players to be selected for a tournament

As Hodgson announced his squad for Euro 2012 yesterday, one of 18-year-old Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's greatest childhood fantasies must have come true.

Granted, he hasn't had to wait long for those schoolboy dreams to transpire, but then neither have a long list of youthful first-timers.

Here we look back at England's youngest players included in an international tournament squad. Some have played their socks off, others haven't played at all. Judging from history, Oxlade-Chamberlain will either be an instant hit, or have to slog it out for a few more years before establishing himself.
