The Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi and Blackburn Rovers defender Martin Taylor have been drafted into David Platt's England Under-21 squad for the European Championship games against Germany and Albania.
The pair were added after Derby's Malcolm Christie and Chris Riggott and Ipswich Town's Titus Bramble were forced to withdraw with injuries picked up on Saturday.
Ameobi, who played 75 minutes of his side's 1-1 derby draw with Sunderland on Sunday, was in Platt's first squad for the friendly against the Netherlands earlier this month but missed out after suffering a groin problem.
