Anita Asante does not believe England can afford themselves any self-congratulation for managing to avoid hosts Germany in the Women's World Cup quarter-finals.
England's 2-0 triumph over Japan on Tuesday gave them a top-place finish in their group and confirmed a last-eight meeting with France in Leverkusen on Saturday. It means they will not at this stage face the Germans, and their partisan home support.
"The main objective was to get out of the group but the goal was always to finish top. After that, there was little we could do about who we were going to play," Asante, the England defender, said. "We have to perform to beat anyone at this stage."
