Cristiano Ronaldo scored four goals as Portugal hammered Lithuania 5-1 in Euro 2020 qualifying on Tuesday night.

Ronaldo scored early in the first half and added three more in the second after the hosts had levelled the match before the interval. Real Betis midfielder William Carvalho wrapped up the scoring in stoppage time.

It was the second consecutive qualifying victory for Portugal after they opened Group B with two straight draws at home. They move into second place with eight points, five points behind Ukraine. Third-place Serbia, who won 3-1 at Luxembourg, have seven points.

The defending European champions, dominated throughout in Vilnius, finishing with 31 total attempts on goal.
