Coronavirus: How has sport been affected?

England will return to Wembley with a friendly against Wales in October, it has been confirmed.

Gareth Southgate’s side have added the game to their autumn schedule, which will now see them host their neighbours on Thursday 8 October.

In accordance with government guidelines, the game is scheduled to be played behind closed doors with no fans in attendance.

The clash will be the side’s first home fixture in 11 months in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

England return to action in September for the Uefa Nations League with back-to-back away matches against Iceland and Denmark.

The friendly with Ryan Giggs’ team will follow before meetings with Belgium and Denmark again at home in October.
