England manager Gareth Southgate will attend next Sunday’s Super Bowl in Minnesota.

Southgate will attend the match between the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles at the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis as part of a Leaders in Sport summit involving coaches of various sports at elite level from across the world.

With just over four months left before England’s World Cup campaign in Russia, Southgate is busily learning from other elite sports and their own coaching and training practices.

He has spoken at length to senior figures in English rugby, cricket, cycling and boxing and next weekend’s trip to the US will be the next stage in that.

Southgate attended West Ham United’s 2-0 defeat to Wigan Athletic on Saturday afternoon where he saw England number one Joe Hart concede two goals.

Then he went to Anfield to see Liverpool lose 3-2 to West Bromwich Albion, where Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jake Livermore, Kieran Gibbs and Jay Rodriguez started – Rodriguez scored twice – while James Milner and Jordan Henderson came on in the second half for Liverpool.
