England have named an unchanged line-up for the Euro 2016 Group B encounter against Wales, meaning that Wayne Rooney remains in midfield and Harry Kane will lead the attack as a lone striker.

Calls to include either Jamie Vardy or Daniel Sturridge to aid Kane have been ignored by Roy Hodgson, who was pleased with the performance during the 1-1 draw with Russia last Saturday even though the Three Lions failed to secure the result they wanted.

Should England drop points again when they take on Wales in Lens, then they will face the prospect of a must-win clash against Slovakia on Monday to ensure they reach the last-16 of the tournament, while Wales would be on the cusp of qualification having won their opening encounter against the same opposition last weekend.

Wales manager Chris Coleman makes two changes to his side as Joe Ledley and Hal Robson-Kanu start, the latter after scoring the winning goal against Slovakia. They start at the expense of David Edwards and Jonny Williams, who both drop to the bench. Ledley makes his return to the starting line-up little more than a month after suffering a fractured leg while playing for Crystal Palace.
