Premier League players Olivier Giroud and Dimitri Payet were the heroes as France scored late on to open the 2016 European Championship with victory in Paris on Friday night.

Arsenal forward Giroud shrugged off a number of misses by heading in a Payet cross under pressure from Romania keeper Ciprian Tatarusanu, only for Patrice Evra to trip Bogdan Stancu to allow the same player to level from the spot.

The hosts looked likely to have to settle for a draw on home soil only for Payet to receive from Leicester's N'Golo Kante and send a stunning effort around Tatarusanu and into the net from outside the area.

But which player rated highest in the French capital? Check out our ratings gallery and let us know your comments in the section below.

France continue their campaign against Albania in Marseille on Wednesday, while Romania next take on Switzerland, again in Paris, earlier the same night.
