West Ham are considering a move for Chelsea’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, potentially on loan.

The east London club have pressed on with business despite the current uncertainty over the managerial position, with Julen Lopetegui sacked on Wednesday and Graham Potter has been in negotiations to succeed him. Dewsbury-Hall has emerged as an option, after limited impact at Stamford Bridge so far.

The 26-year-old arrived from Leicester City in the summer having worked with Enzo Maresca at the Championship winners, but has so far only made five league appearances, with most of his time being restricted to the Europa Conference League.

Chelsea would now like to recruit in other areas, especially in centre-half with Marc Guehi, while there is also interest in Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo.

They would need to make sales, and would listen to approaches on Dewsbury-Hall.

The player was a regular for three seasons at Leicester City, with an energy that could aid a West Ham United midfield that has consistently looked low on intensity this season.

A planned press conference with Lopetegui on Wednesday afternoon ahead of the FA Cup clash with Aston Villa was cancelled with the club since confirming his departure.

Potter has been out of management since leaving Chelsea in April 2023 and could be appointed ahead of the trip to Villa Park on Friday night.
