Alexis Sanchez: Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says the forward is 'not himself' at the moment and may be struggling with fatigue

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has suggested that Alexis Sanchez is "not himself" at the moment, and hinted that he may be struggling with fatigue.

The Chile international has played in 33 games for the Gunners in all competitions this season, and is the club's top scorer with 18 goals.

Sanchez was forced off Arsenal's 2-1 win over Leicester in midweek with a knee injury.

"He had not the same intensity in his game as he had until now," Wenger said.

"I'm not sure he was free in his head to sprint as he used to. I don't know if it was down to the kick he got on his knee, but he was not himself."

Wenger, however, revealed that the 26-year-old should be available for the FA Cup fifth-round tie against Middlesbrough today.

"He has a swollen knee and he cannot move well, but it's only a kick, nothing else," said the boss.

"If he's not available for Sunday, he will be available next week."
