Carlos Tevez, the former Manchester United and Manchester City striker, was involved in controversy last night while playing for Boca Juniors in Argentina - his high tackle on Argentina Juniors' Ezequiel Ham resulted in his opponent suffering a broken leg (watch below).

The incident happened in Boca's 3-1 win. Tevez, who was already on a yellow card, was not booked for the incident, but has apologised to Ham after it was revealed that the injury was serious.

"It makes me angry because I went for the ball, it was neither malicious nor my intention to hurt him. The touch told me I'd done something wrong," he told Futbol Para Todos after the match.

"I'm sad because I didn't want to do anything bad to him. I've never hurt anyone, this is my first time.

"Now I'm going to see him and apologise, as I should do."
