John Terry put in a brilliant shift at Wembley, scoring the decisive opener just before half-time on his way to a man of the match performance as Chelsea beat Spurs to win the Capital One Cup.
The Chelsea skipper posted a couple of pictures on his Instagram account following the win, the first trophy of Jose Mourinho's second spell in charge, hailing the "unbelievable feeling" of winning the 13th major trophy of his career.
"Capital One Cup Winners, Man Of The Match and a Goal at Wembley," Terry, 34, wrote.
"Let's hope this is just the start of a great season for us. Unbelievable feeling today, well done boys."
Then at midnight, after some post-match celebration, the former England captain posted an adorable picture of his two children, Summer and George, asleep with the trophy.
With the simple caption "goodnight", George is also pictured with the winners' medal.
Terry confirmed after the game that he would not be convinced to return to the international set-up, despite calls from supporters and pundits.
"No, is the simple answer," he said when asked about a return. "I don’t want to go into it right now.
"Being back at Wembley, the atmosphere, the stadium, it’s one of the best I have played in, but it’s never crossed my mind.
"I have drawn a line under it and the England squad can move on now."
