Gary Neville has responded to David Cameron's attempts to wade in on the racism in football debate by telling the Prime Minister to “concentrate on your job”.

Cameron declared today that the Football Assoication should be doing more to tackle racism. A report in The Telegraph newspaper claimed the PM would be demanding the FA and other authorities take tougher measures against those found guilty of discrimination.

But Sky Sports pundit and England coach Neville has not welcomed the PM's involvement.

The former Manchester United defender wrote on Twitter: "Find it difficult to take from a PM that is using football for publicity to fight a societal problem. Do your job!!!"

Followed by: "My point on first tweet is the FA treat racism more seriously than the courts. Politicians stay out of the game. Concentrate on your job!"

The racism in football debate which was already raging has been stoked over the last few days after Chelsea accused referee Mark Clattenburg of using "inappropriate language" toward John Obi Mikel and one of their own supporters was pictured appearing to make a monkey gesture at Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck.
