The 44-year-old, who started just four games in his disastrous four year spell at the Blues, when he trained with the youth team while collecting his £40,000 a week wage.
Of his time with Chelsea, he said: "This world is about money, so when you are offered those millions you take them.
"Few people will ever earn so many. I am one of the few fortunate ones who do. I may be one of the worst buys in the history of the Premiership but I don't care."
In total he appeared only 11 times for Chelsea, and retired in 2005, having failed to reach an deal with any other club after leaving the Blues.
