A number of Premier League players joined hundreds of mourners at the funeral in Bradford of former Wolves and Tottenham defender Dean Richards yesterday.

Richards, who was forced to retire from the game in 2005 through illness, passed away last weekend, aged 36.

Former team-mate Robbie Keane and Blackpool forward James Beattie joined friends, family and former colleagues for the funeral at Bradford Cathedral, Richards' home city. Wolves striker Steve Bull and former Bradford manager Chris Kamara also attended. "Deano was a giant," Kamara said. "He was a star player with a Rolls-Royce engine."
