Liverpool great Jamie Carragher has given Jordan Henderson, widely expected to be the next Reds captain, some key advice after he finally joined Twitter yesterday.

Picking up on the usual torrent of abuse from trolls, Carragher, of nearly 500k followers, wrote:

Henderson , 24, is currently the vice-captain of the Anfield club, and with Steven Gerrard leaving to join LA Galaxy in the summer, it is expected he will take over the armband on a permanent basis.

Reds' manager Brendan Rodgers had previously said of Henderson's leadership qualities: "I've made him a vice-captain of the club and he has really grown, not just as a footballer but as a young lad.

"He is a fantastic young man. When Steven isn't on the field, he is a real leader for us and there is no question he can go on and become captain at the club."
