Anti-racism group Kick It Out has reported cases of anti-Semitic abuse on Twitter to the police.

The posts were contained in vitriolic exchanges between Arsenal and Tottenham fans in the wake of the news that Theo Walcott will miss the rest of the season with injury.

One tweet contained a picture mocking the Holocaust - it has since been deleted and the person involved has apologised - but Kick It Out has reported the exchanges.

A statement from the organisation said: "Kick It Out has informed True Vision, an online reporting facility run by the police, of a number of anti-Semitic messages published on Twitter."
