Luis Suarez collects Golden Boot, but Petr Cech and Wojciech Szczesny have to share Golden Glove

Barclays dish out yet more end of season awards

Having already scooped the Players' and Writers' awards, Luis Suarez was always going to win the Barclays Player of the Season gong - which he now officially has.

31 goals, 12 assists and countless performances to savour were enough for the Liverpool striker to add yet another personal accolade to his heaving mantelpiece.

The Uruguayan also picked up the Golden Boot award which is given to the Premier League top scorer. His nearest challenger was his Anfield team-mate Daniel Sturridge, 10 goals behind on 21.

Barclays also hand out a Golden Glove award for the keeper with the most clean sheets - but this year a pair of gloves were needed. Chelsea stopper Petr Cech and his Arsenal counterpart Wojciech Szczesny both recorded 16 blanks during the campaign. Szczesny might be able to claim bragging rights though having played 37 games, three more than Cech.

On the manager front, Tony Pulis scooped the Barclays Manager of the Season award having saved Crystal Palace from what seemed certain relegation.

The awards were decided by the Barclays Awards Panel which is made up of representatives from the media, fans and football's governing bodies.
