Next Manchester United manager: Juventus manager Antonio Conte joins Louis van Gaal and Carlo Ancelotti in the running to take the vacancy at Old Trafford

The Italian's contract with the Serie A champions expires in 2015

The Juventus manager, Antonio Conte, has reportedly emerged as a target to fill the vacant Manchester United manager's seat.

Ryan Giggs has taken charge of the club for the remainder of the season after David Moyes was dismissed earlier this week. Giggs, who made over 1,000 appearances for the side as player, is not thought to be considered for the job on a permanent basis.

Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal and Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti are also in the frame to take over at Old Trafford, with Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone also in the running. Borussia Dortmund's Jurgen Klopp and Bayern Munich's Pep Guardiola, though, have ruled themselves out.

Conte is closing in on his third successive Serie A title as manager with Juventus, the club are eight points clear at the top of the division with four matches to play.

The 44-year-old's contract expires in 2015.

United sacked Moyes on Tuesday after a hugely disappointing 10-month spell as manager after replacing Alex Ferguson last July. The defending English champions are currently seventh in the table, 23 points behind arch rivals and leaders Liverpool.
