Old Trafford will host this season’s League One and Two play-off finals, the Football League announced yesterday.

The May matches would normally be staged at Wembley Stadium, although the hosting of this season’s Champions League final at the venue on 28May– and subsequent Uefa rulings – prohibit the stadium from being used in the preceding fortnight.

The Championship play-off final remains at Wembley, and will be played on the traditional Bank Holiday Monday slot, 30 May, two days after the Champions League final.
