Paulo Dybala: Juventus player pledges to donate 1% of earnings to Common Goal

The initiative, launched by Manchester United’s Juan Mata back in 2017, will see the 26-year-old donate at least 1% of his earnings to social impact causes

Juventus forward Paulo Dybala has become the latest high-profile footballer to join Common Goal.

The initiative, launched by Manchester United’s Juan Mata back in 2017, will see the 26-year-old donate at least 1% of his earnings to social impact causes.

The Argentine international becomes the first elite male player from his country to sign up and he couldn’t be happier to do so.

“This is not about me,” he said. “In fact, it is quite the opposite. This is about working together to tackle the challenges we face.

“I am committed to playing my part in helping to eradicate discrimination, and education is key. What better time to celebrate the platform that we enjoy as players, than when we enjoy success on the pitch?”

Dybala joins Jurgen Klopp, Mats Hummels, Serge Gnabry, Megan Rapinoe and Alex Morgan as members with Mata delighted to have him on board.

“Paulo is one of the most talented and valuable players on the planet and is an incredible addition to Common Goal,” he said.

“The fact that he is using winning the league title with Juventus to make a powerful statement on what success means to him as a person is very inspiring.

“Paul understands that football has a unique power to transform the world and we all need to work together to unleash its full potential”

Common Goal, which reaches its third anniversary next month, has so far raised over €2million for football for good initiatives, plus a further €600,000 through its Covid-19 Response Fund, launched in April this year.
