Ronaldinho still the best, says Messi

Will he finish? That is the question intriguing Spain as Ronaldinho prepares to face Seville in La Liga tonight. The Brazilian has been substituted in his last three matches and was jeered when replaced in midweek.

"He is still the best player in the world," Leo Messi, his Argentine team-mate at Barcelona, said yesterday. "Ronaldinho can have off moments but he always does his best for the team."

Seville beat Barça three times last season and while they lost 3-0 at Arsenal in midweek they have a 100 per cent record in La Liga.

So do Real Madrid, who seek their fourth successive win at home to Real Valladolid tomorrow. With Pepe and Christophe Metzelder injured, Gabriel Heinze may play in central defence.

Roma, the early Serie A leaders, seek their fourth straight victory at home to Juventus. For Juve Hasan Salihamidzic is in line to replace Mauro Camoranesi, who is out for six weeks with a thigh injury. "I am curious to see this Roma side," Juve's Cristiano Zanetti, a champion with Roma in 2001, said. "They are a good team with great players but I don't see them as superior to us."

In the Bundesliga's main match the champions VfB Stuttgart go to fellow Champions League entrants Werder Bremen, with both teams hoping to improve on a poor start.
