Scotland and Burns must wait
Martin O'Neill will keep the Scottish Football Association waiting until after Sunday's Old Firm game before giving them a decision on Tommy Burns.
The Celtic manager confirmed that the SFA had made an official approach to take his youth development officer as part of the new national team manager, Berti Vogts' back-room team. O'Neill said: "We have had an official approach from the Scottish FA and I am trying to digest that at the moment."
The Swansea players, Roger Freestone and Nick Cusack, have been placed in charge of the first team for the match against Carlisle today. The move follows the announcement that the manager, Colin Addison, and his assistant, Peter Nicholas, would not be offered new deals at the end of this season.
The away leg of Milan's Uefa Cup quarter-final against Hapoel Tel Aviv will be played in Nicosia, Cyprus. The tie was switched from Israel by Uefa, the governing body of European football, because of security fears.
