Ben Foster - the obvious England no 1 and the natural successor to Edwin van der Sar at Manchester United. Apart from it hasn't worked out that way.
Foster's omission from the England squad this week has been blamed on injury, but one can't help wonder if he would warrant a place in the squad even if he was fit.
