Tottenham Hotspur have withdrawn from the NextGen Series for young players, in which they were due to play in a semi-final, over what they described as an "accidental breach of a competition regulation", thought to be the fielding of an ineligible player.

Spurs beat Liverpool 1-0 in a quarter-final at White Hart Lane on Wednesday evening but, after their withdrawal, Liverpool will face either Barcelona or Ajax in the semi-final next month.
