Tony Pulis keen on return to management

Former Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has admitted he is keen on a return to management, amid rumours he is in line for the Crystal Palace job.

The 55-year-old insisted that "the job has to be right" but is currently the favourite to replace the recently departed Ian Holloway.

Pulis managed Stoke for five seasons in the Premier League, never finishing below 14th, but the two parted company in May this year.

"It was important to take a rest," Pulis said. "I'm really pleased I've had contact from other clubs but they didn't feel right."

Newly-promoted Crystal Palace are struggling this season and currently sit 19th in the table with high-flying Arsenal due to visit this Saturday.

Club chairman Steve Parish is keen on approaching Pulis.

"He's never been relegated and he's out of work. We'll look," he said.

"I'm sure we'll try and contact him and if he's interested we'll have a chat with him and see where we go.

"But I don't want to put pressure on anybody. We've started making a list, we'll throw everybody into that and see who we want to see."
