During the warm-up ahead of Manchester United's victory over Wolves at Molineux earlier this month, Wayne Rooney inadvertently broke the wrist of a nine-year-old boy.

Jamie Thomas, from Wem in Shropshire, was watching United for the first time when a stray shot from the England striker caught his arm.

Rooney did not appear to be aware of the incident at the time, but Tweeted shortly after the match: "I want to apologise to Jamie Thomas. I have arranged for a letter and a signed shirt to be sent to his home address."

Rooney has come good on his promise, as the video above shows. And it would seem Jamie has forgiven the United striker. "He didn't mean it because he tried to get it in the goal but he missed."

Pictured wearing a cast, Jamie add the Rooney remains his "bestest player".
