In the least surprising news of the day, Aaron Ramsey has been named as Arsenal's Player of the Season.

The Welsh midfielder may have missed three months of the campaign due to a thigh injury, but excelled for the club when he was playing last season, scoring 16 goals in all competitions including the extra-time winner in the 3-2 FA Cup final win over Hull which ended the Gunners' excruciating nine-year wait for a trophy.

Ramsey finished top of the poll on arsenal.com with 58 per cent of the votes.

Per Mertesacker came in second place, while his team-mate at centre-back Laurent Koscielny finished third.
