Alexis Sanchez has been left on the bench for Arsenal’s first-leg semi-final tie against Chelsea tonight in the EFL Cup.

This comes amid increasing speculation surrounding the Chilean’s future in north London, with the player expected to complete a move to Manchester City next week.

In his place, Danny Welbeck has been handed responsibility of leading the line against Antonio Conte’s Blues.

Alex Iwobi has also been named in Arsene Wenger’s match-day squad, despite being caught partying in the early hours in London ahead of Arsenal’s 4-2 defeat by Nottingham Forest in the third round of the FA Cup.

For Chelsea, Eden Hazard starts in a strong team for Conte, with Cesar Azpilicueta wearing the captain's armband.
