Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has released a statement that denies allegations he allowed friends to secretly film him having sex with a former lover.
Valentina Roth, a former Olympic gymnast, claimed in an interview with the Daily Star that the Chilean international had "completely disrespected" her by allowing his friends to film one of the "eight or nine" encounters they had over a year.
"Maybe Alexis thinks it’s funny to film a woman he’s making love to but I bet he’d be furious if someone did the same to his mum or his sister," she said.
But Sanchez, 26, released a statement in both English and Spanish on Friday that completely denied the incident.
"Lately a lot has been said about something that is supposed to have happened at my house in Santiago," he wrote.
"That story is FALSE.
"Never in my life have I disrespected that person nor any other woman. I beg you all to consider my professional career as well as that of the lady that invented the story, and reach your own conclusions.
"This is the only time I will refer to this topic. Regards, Alexis".
SANCHEZ: I love the Premier League!
Sanchez, speaking to the Evening Standard, believes he is "adapting well" to life in England.
"I must keep on learning, though. I want to expand my knowledge of English football in general and Arsenal and my team-mates in particular, but overall I love this league.
"At the end of the day, football was invented in this country, right? I live where football was invented. That makes me really happy."
