A student from the University of Sydney has decided to thank Arsenal ace Alexis Sanchez in his dissertation for "thunderbanging" in goals.

Prasad Cheema, who studied aerospace engineering, thanked his family and teachers, and saved a few specials words for the Gunners' star man.

He had a good point. The Chilean Sanchez has already scored 10 goals for club and country this season.

Last season, Sanchez scored 25 goals as he inspired Arsenal to their FA Cup triumph. In that final, Sanchez "thunderbanged" in quite the goal too.

The Gunners are next in action tonight against Sheffield Wednesday in the League Cup.

Ahead of the game, Gunners' manager Arsene Wenger said of team selection: "There are no new problems from [the 2-1 win over Everton on] Saturday, Per Mertesacker is available again after illness. Nobody else is coming back. Arteta will not be fit. Ramsey, Wilshere, Welbeck and Rosicky of course are all out too."
