Manchester United suffered yet another injury last night, Angel Di Maria making it 12 first-team players that could be missing against Arsenal.

However, Argentina boss Gerardo Martino said the injury was not "anything serious", and the winger said he hoped to be fit for the weekend.

Insult was added to Louis van Gaal's wounds when the British record signing was injured by Manchester United loanee Luis Nani, in a heavy tackle during the first half of Portugal's 1-0 win over Argentina at Old Trafford.

Di Maria continued to play on and was eventually substituted after an hour of action, though he did need to go for a scan after the game.

"We don't think it is anything serious. It was quite a tough blow that he took," said Martino.

"It was a tough knock. It cut the skin a little bit. But we have had a look at it and we are evaluating the situation.

"We are having a look at some X-rays, some images that have been taken but in spite of that we don't think it is too serious."

Di Maria added that he hoped to be fine by the weekend.

"It was just a blowm" he said. "I hope it doesn't swell any more so I can play at the weekend."
